Basic Theory and Design Method of Variable Shaft Angle Line Gear Mechanism

In this paper, a novel line gear mechanism is proposed; it called the variable shaft angle (VSALGM). VSALGM has two rotational degrees of freedom, one rotation gears with constant transmission ratio, and other relative swing shafts. First, contact model composed driven curve driving teeth working surface (DLTWS) was proposed. With concept, basic design equations for were derived on basis space meshing theory gear. Moreover, criterion pressure analysed proposed model. A method thus developed. example given, prototypes manufactured using three-dimensional (3D) printing. Kinematic experiments spot testing carried out self-made kinematic test rig by prototypes. The results show that designed in paper can achieve continuous, smooth stable while continuously changed within its setting range.
